Dear Big Girl Branding- An Open Letter of Apology to My Blog

D

First of all, I’d just like to thank you for being so good to me since your birth.

I know those birthing canals can get a bit tight, so I am grateful you don’t hate me for not being a better “birther”.  (Yes I made that word up.)

Since you were born, you’ve come a long way.

You morphed from SexyCopy.Org, with its somewhat off-putting name (No, sexy copy was not a porn site, tyvm) into the beautific, still somewhat off-putting but aptly named Big Girl Branding. (And no, big does not imply “fat”… it’s meant to imply being a “grown-up”. Sheesh.)

You’ve gone from having one loyal reader (Moi, you know I’m a huge fan) to having 130 RSS readers, 21 EMAIL readers, and 452 NEWSLETTER readers, respectively.

Not to mention that neat Alexa ranking (readers, feel free to review us!) of 160 thousand-ish that tells me you’re getting kinda popular.  (And when’d that happen exactly anyway?)

Chunk change perhaps, when compared to massive blogs of coolness such as ProBlogger and CopyBlogger

Oh heck, who am I kidding?

Chunk change even when compared to the awesomeness of ViperChill and SkellieWag, both wildly popular and wonderful in their own right, but significantly smaller in size to the aforementioned behemoths.

If I were to compare, I’d say we’re pretty small fry, small fry.

BUT I hate being compared, so I know you do too… we’re awfully similar in some respects, don’t you think?

All that being as it may, I want to thank you for hanging in there.  And I’m sorry I’ve not been around the past two weeks as much.  I’m working on that.

But thanks to you, I’ve gained a few new ghostblogging clients that have divided my attention a bit.  So I’m working on a plan to streamline things a bit better.  Hopefully you’ll forgive me for being so remiss, because while I’m streamlining my scheduling process…

I’ve also got new plans in the works for you! (Feel free to start jumping up and down in joy here, it’s very gratifying for me when you do.)

You’ve got a make-over in the works… coming soon to a blog near you.  As soon as our awesome coder guy Nick gets it all ready, you (and our dear readers of course) will get to see it and be appropriately awed.

Hopefully you (and our dear readers of course) will love it, as it should be much more “user- friendly”, while still being appropriately awesome.

And if you hate it… too bad so sad, ‘cuz it’s already paid for small fry! (I know, I’m a meanie.)

I am also working on reorganizing your awesome self a bit better in regards to your content, as I know you feel a bit flim-flam at times.

You want your readers to know where to find all the cool stuff, I get it! After all, we’re working on building a content empire here!

Duly noted and in progress.

Not to mention, I’ve got a product idea in the works that you’ll be able to sing about to all your readers in the upcoming months.  I hope they’ll like it… I’m pretty sure they will though.

And of course, I’m working on scheduling that newsletter of yours a bit better… you’re kind of sporadic you know.  Not your fault of course, totally mine, so don’t worry… I’m fixing it soooon!

That said, I really am sorry for being so neglectful these last couple of weeks, and I promise to try and do better.  I know you have a hard time running this gig all by your lonesome and I’m supposed to be there to pick up the slack.

Except I’ve been a slacker.  Damn.

So this is me, donning my new super-productivity cape, and kickin’ some blogging a#% with you in the coming weeks and months.   Are you ready to get back in gear?  Ready to take this pony for a ride?

Let’s go then buddy… I can’t do it without ya!

Sincerely

AKA k0zm0zs0ul
