Dear Twitterheads- Ya’ll Are Awesome!

D

Coffee and Convo… Let’s Chat!

I created this post because, let’s face it… you really can’t get to know someone in a 140 characters or less.  And that’s kind of crappy because the point of Twitter is to connect, get to know people, and build relationships!  So to that end, I thought I’d post a little about me so that you can dig around and see a bit of what makes me tic.

The Down and Dirty

How old are you and are you single?

Lol… OK, first I am 28. Yes really. And no I’m not single. Sorry guys. 🙂  I am very happily un-married to my boyfriend of 11ish years, and we are co-parents to two amazing hoodlums who make it their mission in life to drive me bonkers.  But they’re so cute and sweet doing it that most of the time I get over it.  You might see a photo or two of them here on this blog, but if you really want to see the familia, Friend me on Facebook.

Where do you hail from?

Currently I live in the Sunshine State of Florida, in a town just outside of Orlando.  I was born here in Florida and grew up for the most part in Kissimmee.  I did live for brief moments of time in Vero Beach and Mississippi.

I dream of living somewhere with a nice beach nearby, mountains in the distance, and a somewhat roomy home on an even roomier plot of land.  All within 30 minutes of a major city so that I can still feel the bustle and enjoy the night life.  Sheesh… I don’t ask for much do I?!

Are you really a sushi addict?

In short… yes.  I adore sushi.  Except my definition may differ slightly from hardcore sushi lovers.  I love the rice rolls filled with yummies, but big chunks of raw fish… nope sorry. Not my thing.  My fave sushi rolls have cream cheese in the middle.  Just sayin’.

You’re always so positive on Twitter… do you ever have bad days?

Hells to the Yeah!  I have good days and bad days just like everyone.  But I view Twitter as a place for positive connections, so I try and keep my b**ch on a leash for the most part.

And generally I’m a laid back, friendly kind of gal who likes to focus on the future and the positive, rather than dwell on the past and get steeped in negativity and anxiety.  You are that which you focus on and surround yourself with.  That being said, I’d much rather focus on good things and surround myself with great people, wouldn’t you?

I can’t believe you have two kids… you look like a kid yourself!

Why thank you! Can’t beat a compliment like that! J But yep… I am mom to a 10 year old and a 6 year old.  Which means I got preggos at ‘gasp’ 17.  But I believe we all have a journey and young motherhood was mine.  It has shaped me into the person I am today and I can’t regret that.  Plus I get to be the cool ‘young’ mom to all my kid’s friends. Hee.

Have any hobbies?  Things you adore doing?

Why yes actually.  I love to curl up with a good book and some coffee and read the day away.  I also love getting together with friends and family, sharing a meal, and enjoying the moment.  I love going dancing with my girls.

I adore singing and secretly wish I was Beyonce or Carrie Underwood.  And I am a movie and night-time television addict.  There, I said it.  Yes some people say television rots the brain, but I respectfully say… so what? I enjoy it.  🙂

Favorite books? Music? Movies?

Lordy… asking me if I have a favorite anything is a mistake.  I have TONS of faves. Lol.  Off the top of my head though, I am very partial to the Twilight book series.

My current favorite songs are ‘I Want This Forever’- Drake and co.  ‘Whataya Want From Me’- Adam Lambert and ‘Need You Now’- Lady Antebellum.

As to movies… hmnn… anything with Gerard Butler.  (swoon)  Or Angelina Jolie. Or… Or… see? I told you asking my faves was a bad idea!

You’ve got a whole lotta followers… do you really talk to them all?

Well no, not all of them.  But to be fair, they don’t all talk to me either! Lol However I do make every effort to respond to personal DM’s and @replies, as well as make it a point to say hello to at least a couple new Tweeps a week, either via the stream or DM.

And I almost always respond to email, (unless you’re spamming me!) which you can see for yourself by contacting me here.

You’re a real nerd… those corny jokes you crack on Twitter make me groan!

Yeah well… what can I say? I was born a dork.  You can catch up on some of the dorky jokes by searching the hashtag #dorkbrigade.  Feel free to join us in our merry little band of geeks! We welcome all with open arms and a crack on what a nerd you are too.

The ‘Bidness’ AKA My Business

I don’t see how you can be on Twitter so much… don’t you have like… a real job?

Hmnn… depends on your definition of ‘real job’. J I work from home as a freelance ghostwriter/copywriter/blogger.  I used to clean vacation homes for a living.  Guess which one I like better?!  Needless to say that means I can devote a bit of time each day to my Tweeps. Although I admit some days I can’t and have to play catch up with the Twitterverse!

Cool you’re a writer! I want to do that too!

Awesome! You should if you have a knack for it.  My best advice is don’t worry about being perfect, worry about engaging and entertaining your readers.  Yeah you’ll get a few sticklers who like to point out you forgot to dot an I or put a comma somewhere, but for the most part… people just like good content.  If you can provide it and make cash while doing it… DO IT!

So you really make money at that writing stuff?

Sure do.  I love it and haven’t looked back since I started.  And no I do not hold a Journalism or English degree, nor do I have prior experience as a ‘professional’ writer.  The most experience I had when I started was that I read a lot of books growing up, I wrote a lot of poetry, and I had a natural affinity for conversational writing.  And really, that is all you need to make a living.

But what’s a ghostwriter anyway? Isn’t that someone who writes about ghosts or something?

Not exactly.  Ghosting means I write for you, and you get to pretend you wrote it.  You pay me an agreed upon fee for writing it and I release all rights to the content once it’s paid for.  And before you knock that, let me just say that some of the best ‘best sellers’ are ghostwritten.  Just sayin’.

So you write books or something?

Naaa not too many books.  At least not fiction.  I do write a lot of ebooks, and ghost a lot of blog posts.  I also write ad copy and press release.  Fiction I haven’t dipped my toe into because quite frankly, it’s a whole other animal from non-fiction and the kind of web content I primarily write.

Do you teach how people how to write?

Mnn… no, not really.  I may consider putting together some kind of instructional course sometime in the future, but as of now… I just write.  🙂  I do offer the occasional consult and coaching on creating web content that shines though, you are welcome to email me and check availability.

Published anything cool?

Nope, not as yet.  I’m a ghost, so who I write for tends to be on the down low.  As to my own work… I have a book in the planning stages, but GOSH… do you know how hard it is to write your own stuff?!  Who freakin’ knew?  So you can expect that it will be a fairly sloowww process there.

Finally… can I pay you to write for me? (My favorite question!) 😉

Why certainly! But I do work on a first-come first-served basis, and I’m not the cheapest kid on the block.  So that’d be something to keep in mind if you’d like me to write for you.  But generally, unless you want fiction, techie-speak, or stock market content… I can write for you.

Ad copy will depend on the project however- I don’t write ad copy for projects I don’t feel comfortable with, nor will I write copy for crazy schemes that promise the moon.  Sorry, just not my style.

Well folks, that about wraps it up! I hope you enjoyed this post and getting to know ‘me’ a little better.  I’d love to get to know ‘you’ a little better as well, so feel free to comment in the box below, or just say hello.  And if you have a burning question you’d really like to ask… feel free.  If it’s not ridiculously personal or downright rude, I’ll try my best to answer.

Warm regards,

AKA k0zm0zs0ul
